An accident, no matter how minor or major, should never happen in one’s life. However, it is an unforeseeable and unintentional loss which can happen every day and every time. There are several negative consequences, including bodily injury, disability, and, in the worst-case scenario, premature death. You should be aware of yourself and know what to do in the event of an accident in order to reduce the worst-case scenario of death. I would advise you to do the following when anything unintentionally happens :

In minor accidents

For example, in your home or workplace, you may slip on the floor and suffer an Abrasion Wound. The way that you should do is :

  1. You should be conscious all the time and don’t panic.
  2. Determine which part of your body is in pain and has a wound. You should observe if your bone is normal or not.
  3. If you feel pain in your leg or waist, Please do not stand up if you feel pain in your leg or waist to avoid muscle irritation and broken bones. You should not move your body or ask for assistance from those in the area.
  4. However, if you can move your body without suffering bone or muscle discomfort, you should rise up “slowly” and go to the restroom to clean the wound to avoid infection.
  5. If you do not feel better, you should go to the hospital for a deep check up. Normally, in an accident case, whether you have a medical history or not, you may walk in without reservations.

In major accidents

Such as car crashes, some serious accidents, or whether you found some major accidents in daily life that other people suffer from. I would show you how to handle it :

  1. If you are not the sufferer meaning that you find a serious accident, such as persons who are unconscious on the road. You should be aware and should call an ambulance or “1669.” Because the ambulance has the staff who have high skill and experience together with the full equipment. They have an ambu bag or a defibrillator in case the patient is arrested. Because it is considered an emergency, you will receive medical treatment as soon as possible without any reservation.
  2. If the patient has a wound but is still conscious, you can provide basic first aid and assist in coordinating with emergency services such as 1669, JS100, and others.
  3. Moreover, if you find the sufferer is conscious but they fall from a height, you should help them by holding Cervical and stop the bleeding.

These are the examples of the way that you should do when minor injuries or serious injuries or accidents. However, having health insurance is a better way to mitigate the impact of loss when an accident happens. I recommend that you purchase insurance from Rabbit Care under expat health insurance in Thailand. Because there are several types of coverage with varying territory limits and benefit amounts.
