The Art of High Pace Mixing

In the industry of making emulsions the HSM (high-shear rotor/stator mixer) is among the most hottest selection. They shorten the mixing process and also have a broad selection of functions they can perform. They might be used to make a variety of substances such as gums, drugs, cosmetics, pigments and flavors.

Since researchers have concentrated their studies on low-shear mixing the high shear mixers have already been largely overlooked. Generally, it’s the application that is the main focus of testing rather than the process of mixing. Due to this lack of information there were many misconceptions about high speed mixers.

Scaling up in the laboratory is an important section of mixing properly. Yes the product quality is of course the number one concern. However, you can find other serious considerations as well. Proper planning might help cut costs by enormous amounts. The goal is to spend the least sum of money and time while producing exactly the same high quality product. Everything should be held beneath the microscope to find the best solutions. Even the ground plan should be taken in mind. Operating procedures, net operating costs and equipment management all have an impact on the entire cost of operation.

For example, if your lab can mix a batch in mere 12 seconds but the machine is set to cycle for 5 minutes, you are wasting another the main time. Four minutes plus forty-eight seconds is time that can impact other expenditures because the batch reached its mixing equilibrium in the initial twelve seconds. By overshooting even what appears like handful of time energy costs, labor, deterioration on the device and productivity factors are all affected and find yourself costing more over time. ラボ用ミキサー can cut these extra lab costs.

One consideration that’s worth looking at is using an inline mixer rather than a batch mixer. With the inline mixer the process is more easily controlled than with a batch mixer. Both solids and liquids monitored and easily mixed in. They are also easily adaptable to the pre set lab situations. Because of this there doesn’t have to be a large amount of changes in existing floor plans. It usually is positioned right beside the tank. Then the materials for the batch can be sent directly from the tank to be processed by the high-shear rotor and returned to the tank.
