Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is indeed a special period for over a billion Muslims worldwide. It is a time of spirituality, self-discipline, fasting, and reflection. While charity is important throughout the year, the rewards for charitable deeds are believed to be multiplied during Ramadan. This sense of enhanced communal spirit, compassion, and generosity pervades the Muslim community worldwide during this holy month.

The culmination of Ramadan is marked by ‘Eid-al-Fitr’, a festivity that signifies the end of fasting. Muslims celebrate this day with much joy and gratitude. There is a special prayer offered in the morning, followed by a festive meal shared with family and friends. Traditionally, gifts are exchanged, new clothes are worn, and donations are made to the poor and needy.
