Whole immersion in summer time acting courses: A excellent experience!
I now know the variation amongst having lessons one at a time and entirely immersing myself into the craft that I really like for six complete months of eating, sleeping and breathing acting.
Effectively, I kinda understood what it was like shortly following I had begun learning performing a couple of several years back. I first started researching in a theatre firm in Milan, Italy. At the time I was functioning much more than a full-time job and could only go to course in the evenings. Course hours ended up from 9 – 11pm, a few times a week. It was greater than nothing at all, but typically I arrived at class and I was exhausted. I possibly could have gotten a lot more out of it if I had had more strength. Nonetheless, I am glad I had that experience.
Then, I took a ten-day workshop in Italy with an American acting mentor and trainer. That was a mini-immersion for the ten-working day period. The workshop was five hrs a working day of instruction for then straight days and then rehearsals. At the time, I experienced already saved enough money and quit my full-time job to pursue acting entire-time.
And then…
I went to New York for a a few month period and had place jointly my possess software of all the different courses I required so that I could entirely immerse myself and have a total encounter of concentrating on my craft. I put jointly a schedule of lessons, a blend from different colleges. I took performing classes in method, sensory operate, scene research, improvisation, audition technique. In addition I took mini workshops in different locations this kind of as corporate movies, soaps, primary-time television as effectively as yoga courses, and I went to the fitness center often. That was my 1st kind of true immersion.
